This is going to be a summer of changes and improvements for our house. I have a LONG list of things to get finished this summer. Here are a few of our big projects. I will try to keep you updated on their progress as the summer goes on.......
Project #1- The Yard
Do I even need to say more.......our yard is a disaster so we are finally trying to get it under control. We had these terrible ruts and gulleys and about a million rocks. We are going to try and work on it in sections and hopefully get some grass. We have some friends who are landscapers who are helping us with our project. Here is our friends Ann and David getting rid of the little grand canyon in our front yard.

I know this may not look like much to some people....but it already a huge improvement! Hopefully I can post some new pictures in a few weeks of our new green grass!

Project #2- The Kitchen

I promise to NEVER EVER even think about wallpaper again for the rest of my life. We put up this wallpaper about 6 years ago and it was time for it to go! I am slowly ripping it down and I can tell that it is going to be a very slow and painful process, but I know that the final result will be well worth it.

Project #3- The Backyard Oasis
This is the future site of our new pool......we are hoping that construction will start next week! I am a little nervous about the huge mess that it will make, but I can't wait for the end result!

End of the Year Celebration

Since today was McKinley's celebration at school, I took the day off from work to be mommy and have fun. McKinley has spent two years at the church preschool. We have been blessed with great teachers who have loved and taught McKinley so much! We spent the morning with his teachers and friends from school playing, jumping and singing. Here are some pictures from our day. We started out the morning in the jumpy house. Here is McKinley and Miss Susan jumping around!

The picture below is McKinley and Henry. McKinley told me this morning that Henry "is his best friend ever and they do everything together".

McKinley was a little weary about going up the big slide.....he would go up the ladder a little bit and then freeze and chicken out.

Finally, he went down the slide and loved it!

134th Kentucky Derby

We got together with some friends yesterday to watch the Kentucky Derby. We all had a great time especially the kids. They all had a blast playing together! Here is Kate watching the Derby. She was watching to see if her horse was going to pay out big!

After the Derby, we headed outside to play. Here is Molly Margaret chillin with her daddy.

Aunt Holly & McKinley played in the fort.

Karson and Keri had a good time playing with Cooper.

Kate learned how to drive McKinley's gator. Her and Karson had a good time crusin the backyard.

Karson was really brave to ride with this wild man.

Karson was too little to drive the gator, but he was just the right size for the motorcycle. McKinley wanted to race!

Gone Fishin

Today was McKinley's 1st fishing trip ever. We were very excited to be in the company of the master fisherman....Uncle Scott. Here is Uncle Scott, Addie and McKinley on the four-wheeler heading to the lake.

Kate's 2nd Birthday!

We celebrated Kate's 2nd Birthday last weekend. Here are some pictures from the party.

Kate really enjoyed her cake. She kept sneaking icing.
