Marley Ann's Baby Shower

On Sunday, Holly and Davina threw me a wonderful baby shower for Marley Ann. Everything was delicious and beautiful (as always!). It was so nice to have my friends around me to help celebrate the upcoming arrival of my new bundle of joy. I already had most of my essential "baby gear" from McKinley and am trying to reuse as much as possible, but it was so nice to be showered with lots of pink and some new stuff!

This is a picture of my friends from the shower. The people to the right are my friends from work, and the people to the left are friends that I have picked up along the years!

A quick update

Last weekend, Kate and McKinley went to Jumping Jelly Beans to celebrate their friend Karson's birthday. The kids (and adults) had a great time. Most of my pictures were to blurry from all the movement, but I thought I would share these 2 of Kate and McKinley.

Most of the time, I am not that amused by my very early riser, but this morning I couldn't help but laugh and had to grab my camera for a quick picture!

This is what woke Andy & I up this morning!

McKinley amazes me everyday. One day this week, we were riding home in the car and he started spelling color words. He said "Hey mom did you know that b-l-a-c-k spells black!" He has an incredible teacher this year and Andy and I can see him learning and taking everything in like a sponge. We have also been practicing writing on his new easel that Santa brought him. McKinley is a little hard for him to write, so we have been working on just "MAC" and the other day he wrote "mommy". There is nothing sweeter than seeing that written in the sloppy innocent toddler handwriting. One of McKinley's favorite things to do lately is to draw "scary monsters" for us. Here is one of his masterpieces!

**Baby Marley Ann Update**

I am now 35 weeks....yeah! As of the last doctors visit, here is the plan. Marley Ann is measuring and growing just perfect so at 38 weeks, if all is still well, they are going to try and "jump-start" my labor and try to get me to go into labor on my own. If I don't go on my own that week, they will induce me at 39 weeks. I am hoping for a baby the week of Feb.16th instead of the following week because Feb 27th is McKinley's birthday and I would really like atleast a week between their birthdays!

Our Little Angel

We went back today to Baby Dimensions to get some pictures of our little Marley Ann at 33 weeks. Here is my favorite picture from our session.....she looks so precious! I especially like those chubby cheeks! This is not the best picture, the technician had a hard time getting her to move. She had her arm in front of her face almost the entire time.

McKinley's Day

We have been doing somethings around the house in anticipation of Marley Ann's arrival. We are trying to make this a smooth and easy transition for McKinley and he seems to be doing ok so far....however she is not here yet. Anyway, Andy and I thought we would do something fun with McKinley today, just the 3 of us! We asked him what he wanted to do and he picked glow in the dark golfing. Here are some pictures of our morning.

We did not plan on bowling, but after we got done putt-putting, we decided to bowl a game. This was pretty funny. We told McKinley not to go past the line. Of course he did not listen, so he fell a couple of times on the slick floor. He really had a good time and by the end of the game was pretty good at rolling the bowling ball.

We finished up the day with lunch and ice cream....what a perfect day!

Happy New Year!

OK, so the older we get, the more "G" rated our New Years Eve Parties get. Last year we watched movies until midnight. This year I thought we should "rock" things up a bit, so we broke out the "Guitar Hero". Here we are rocking out!

Christmas 2008

Santa was very good to McKinley this year. All McKinley wanted for Christmas was 1-Spike the Dinosaur 2- an art easel 3- a scooter. He was VERY excited to see Spike Christmas morning.

McKinley was a little upset and confused on Christmas Eve because there was no snow. In his little mind, we needed snow to have Christmas. Luckily our Elf on the Shelf named "Happy" told Santa about our snow issue and Santa left McKinley a surprise.

(Santa's suit got caught on the fireplace on the way up the chimney...McKinley was super excited to see this!)

Christmas Eve

We always go to my mom and dads for Christmas Eve. I had my camera, but didn't hardly take any pictures. Here are a few that I got.

McKinley loves the pirate ship that Aunt Tammy and Uncle E gave him. As a matter of fact this morning he was wheeling it around the house playing with the cannons and little pirates. One of the little pirates fell out onto the floor, he informed me that the pirate must of had too much brown liquor! Where does he come up with these things!

Kate loved the trunk of dress up stuff that Uncle Brian gave her....here she is trying out a few of the pieces.

Gore Kanfield Christmas

Monday night we had our annual "Gore Kanfield Christmas" This year the Kanners hosted at their house. We all had a great time especially the kids. The kids had the greatest time playing on the twins slide upstairs.

Kate's musical tutu and magic wand were a big hit!

McKinley loved his pirate costume set. Argghh.....ahoy matey!

After playtime, supper and present opening, the kids had a great time decorating gingerbread cookies.

Thanks Holly & Scott for having us over.......There is nothing better than spending the holidays with people you love!!!!

Superman

McKinley loves to take his white blankie and tie it around his neck like he is Superman. Well, I just happened to remember that another little boy use to like to play Superman. Thank goodness that Andy's mom still had the costume and a picture.

Family Tradition

I just thought it would be neat to post McKinley and Andy with "Buster Clause". McKinley and Andy are about the same age in both of these pictures. Buster has worked with the Newnan police department since Andy was a little boy. He is now the Newnan Chief of Police and is still playing Santa.
